First of all, I am a human being and I love the nature. By profession I am an Electrical Engineer, and presently working in Tata Steel. I have worked for more than 20 years in Tata Steel at various positions. I have worked mostly in a mineral processing plants and I had the opportunity to lead the mining maintenance team of a big mine. By, now my job is more of a generalist and less of an Electrical Engineer. In our engineering profession, we always face new challenges, sometimes, it appears like insoluble problem, but, in most of the cases we get solutions with some or more difficulty. I, strongly believe, all problems have solutions, it is only a matter of time and level of involvement one has to put in to solve a problem. I feel happy, to get a new problem and try to solve it. I believe in team work, which helps me to solve any complex problem. Finding a new solution gives me immense satisfaction, thus the life passes. In my more than 20 yrs of service, I had many such opportunities to crack new challenges and have found innovative solution. There are also, instances of failures while I was trying to find out a solution, however, I have learned a lot from such failures. In Tata Steel, we have a culture of freedom to fail, this encourages people to experiment new things and thus drive innovations. After spending many years in maintenance function, I thought I should broaden my arena and know more about other aspect of business. I wanted to know more about the corporate world, competition, economic environment, finance, costing, globalisation, etc. To fulfil my dream, I have joined 3 years executive MBA programme at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar in the year 2006. I have created my blog and writing something about me gives me immense pleasure. This, opportunity I have got because of my professor Mr. D. P. Dash, who has given me an assignment to create a blog and write on corporate planning. For me, this is the best assignment I have ever got. I express my heartfelt thanks to him. I shall be happy to get comment on this article. Ganesh →
